Bit Torrent: To downloading using bit torrent you'll need a client usually downloaded from download.com. These programs connect you to a variety of people who are trying to download the same file as you are. There is one person with the entire file and people with pits and pieces of the same file. The way it works is that if I have a bit of a file and you dont I'll send it to you so that you can get that bit and you'll send me the bits I dont have. Direct Downloads: Direct downloading would be the best way to download anime. Its usually the fastest reliable way to download any episode you would like. Direct downloads on the other hard cost the person hosting the file money so a nominal fee is usually charged for these. Many sites for direct downloads also offer downloads managers so they allow you to get a huge file in a couple days if you arnt able to get it all at one shot.

FTP: Ftp downloading would be for a person who already has been in the downloading scene and has access to these. These accounts usually have strict downloading rules and if not followed will get you banned. If you follow the rules you shouldnt have a problem downloading anything.
